Welcome to Simcoe Social Skills (SSS) and our Individual Developmental Programs; Adult Social Daily Living Skills (IDP-ASDLS). This program has been designed specifically for adults with developmental disabilities with a goal to help live as independently as possible. We can design a therapeutic program to support and promote individual needs that foster independent growth. Our IDP-ASDLS facilitator selects its clients based on what SSS can provide and what the needs are of a potential client. We welcome clients and caregivers to apply to this program that meet the following requirements-
• At least 18 years of age
• A legal resident of Ontario
• Have a developmental disability such as autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and more.
Our IDP-ASDLS is a 12 week program with 1.5 hour sessions at our clinic (or in-house depending on the needs of the client and the facilitators availability) that target specific goals and uses a therapeutic play approach. Each weekly session will be designed and structured to meet the unique needs of the client by using engaging games, activities, discussions, sensory inputs and crafts.
Below are some examples of goals we can support-
